Report Abuse or Concerns

The Church takes all complaints of abuse seriously. Complaints of sexual abuse against church personnel in New Zealand are referred to us. Increased publicity can be the catalyst for people to come forward. We encourage anyone who has been abused by a priest or religious to contact us, for your story to be heard and your complaint to be investigated. Alternately you may choose to go directly to the Police, and the Church will support anyone who requires assistance to do this.

The Church’s protocol for responding to complaints of abuse is called ‘Te Houhanga Rongo – A Path to Healing’. Click here for a copy of Te Houhanga Rongo – A Path to Healing.

Please contact us if you would like to make a complaint, or would simply like more information about the Church’s complaint process.

Our office hours are Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 3.30pm. If our phone is unattended, please do leave us a message with your contact details. If you are calling outside of our office hours, and you are concerned about someone’s immediate safety, please contact the New Zealand Police for advice
